Worldwide Coastal “Dead Zones”

A SIGN OF THE END OF THE WORLD

Ezekiel 33:6 But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand.

The ocean covers 2/3 of the planet we live on. It covers 140 million square miles about 72 percent of the earth surface.

About 97 percent of the world’s fishermen live in developing countries and fishing is their major source for food and income.

, Fish is one of the most important sources of animal protein for more than 50 percent of people in many least developed countries.

Worldwide Coastal “dead zones” with means, too little oxygen for marine life is spreading around the globe. Pollution-fed algae, which comes from living marine life of oxygen, is the cause of most of the world’s dead zones. Scientists mainly blame farm runoff, sewage, and fossil fuel burning and fertilizer.

The largest American dead zone is at the mouth of the Mississippi River and covers more than 8,000 square miles, about the size of New Jersey.

Low-oxygen areas have been reported in Washington state’s Samish Bay, Yaquina Bay in Oregon, prawn culture ponds in Taiwan, the San Martin River in northern Spain and some fjords in Norway, Big Glory Bay in New Zealand, Yangtze River in China, Japan, southeast Australia and other places around the world.

Globally, these low-oxygen areas have expanded to more than 1.5 million square miles.

Dead zones cause is lack of oxygen, an increase in chemical nutrients in the water, leading to excessive blooms of algae that deplete underwater oxygen levels.

Oxygen is necessary for life in the ocean and is among the most serious effects of human activities on the Earth’s environment.

In dead zones animals living there suffocate and die. As a result, marine creatures avoid these areas, resulting in their habitats shrinking.

Luke 21:11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.

Luke 21:25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring.

Luke 21:26 Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

Luke 21:27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

Luke 21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.In Hosea the Bible gives a prophecy to Israel which I’m sure applies today to the world at the end.

Hosea 4:1 The LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.

Hosea 4:2 By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood.

Hosea 4:3 Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish=lose or lack vitality; grow weak or feeble, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away.
