The Holy Bible

The Bible is the world’s best selling book, having sold more than 6 billion copies. Every person who has access to the Bible has an eternal treasure within their hands.

People take the words of God for granted, not apprehending that at their fingertips is the words breathed by God and given to the writers of the Bible, by the Spirit of truth.

When you read the Bible you are rewarded with words spoken by God and have the opportunity to understand what God thinks about many subjects.

What a wonderful gift that has been given to humans.

So the next time you pick up the Bible, remember this is a chance to hear from God.

It is the hearing of the Word that brings everyone unto Christ.

Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

The Bible teaches how beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace.

Romans 10:15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!

The sad thing to report is less than half of practicing Christians in the U.S. spend serious time engaging with their Bible, according to the American Bible Society, and the rest of the country is even worse.

The American Bible Society presented evidence gathered from a six-year assessment of the state of the Bible conducted by the Barna Group which shows that just 18 percent of the American population in general reads the Bible.

There are those who do not believe the Bible, and they categorize the Bible as just another book or fairytales. But they also are opposed to the Bible and consider it a dangerous book.

The Bible has 66 separate books, written over 1,600 years, by at least 40 authors. The Old Testament contains 39 books written from approximately 1500 to 400 BC, and the New Testament contains 27 books written from approximately 40 to 90 AD.

Around 40 AD, through about 90 AD, the eye-witnesses to the life of Jesus, including Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Paul, James, Peter, and Jude, wrote the Gospels, letters and books that became the Bible’s New Testament. They quoted from 31 books of the Old Testament, and their material was so popular that by about 150 AD, early Christians were referring to the entire set of writings as the New Covenant.

But what makes the Bible the most wonderful book given to humans is that it is God-breathed.

2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is God-breathed, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Another reason it’s the most wonderful gift given to humans is the words in it are alive.

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is alive, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Let’s study intensively the word of God and diligently seek him.

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
