The way to God is to follow Jesus. Many people who go to church live their way or the worlds way, but not Jesus ways. Jesus said that his way was the only way to God.
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Many people who go to church want to say they are saved, but their ways prove different.
It takes more than going to church or saying I believe in Jesus to be a Christian. Some people who go to Church only act like a Christian while they are there. As soon as they leave they are back to being themselves, caught up in the affairs of the world.
A Christian is to be crucified with Jesus, die out to themselves and the lust of the flesh.
Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
If you love the world or the things in it, as many do who go to church, then the love of the Father is not in you.
1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever.
We are not to be similar to those of the world but be transformed into a Christian with a renewed mind.
Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
A Christians affection is to be on things of God, not on things of the earth.
Colossians 3:2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
The Bible teaches that if you’re a friend of the world, you are not of God. It says you are an enemy of God and guilty of adultery. You are married unto Christ and you have left your partner and are committing adultery with the world.
James 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
Jesus said to die daily to your flesh and follow him.
Matthew 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
The only way you will ever die out to your flesh and live for Christ is to have a renewed mind. The only way to renew your mind is to be born again by the Word of God and grow thereby.
1 Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever.
And when we are born again by the Word of God then we are able to deny ungodliness and lust and live in this present world.
Titus 2:12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world.
Jesus taught that many would say we prophesied in your name, we cast out devils in your name and did many wonderful works in your name, and he will say unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Matthew 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
So don’t be like many on the internet who go about trying to work out everyone else’s salvation, but work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. The way to God is to follow Jesus
