Does Christians get Tattoos on their bodies?

I read an article on MSN about an opinion of a young female who said can we go to heaven with tattoos. First, it was obvious that she knew nothing about the Bible or religion.

So I will give you my opinion about these news companies putting on articles to mislead readers about Christianity and have Christians make the wrong decision in their walk with Jesus.

Never and I mean never, take advice from the news media about Christianity. And just because they say it’s okay, that doesn’t make it okay.

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

We don’t go to heaven, but we go to a new earth, so that should tell you about the source.

Revelations 21:1 and I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

Revelations 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

The resurrected Christians are the bride, so the new Jerusalem is the church on the new earth, not heaven.

2 Corinthians 11:2  For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.

Revelations 19:7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.

Revelations 19:8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.

Revelations 19:9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

The Bible says in the Old Testament no prints or marks on your body.

Leviticus 19:28 Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the Lord.

That really covers tattoos!

Will it stop you from being saved?  No! If you do it in ignorance, they can be removed. You can’t change things you have already done before you knew.

If knowing and then doing tattoos, you would be sinning.

And for the ones who go to churches that teach it’s okay to sin, God forbids.

Romans 6:1  What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

Romans 6:2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

Romans 6:15  What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

1 John  2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

1 John  2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

So-called Christian tattoos are not Christian, are bodies are not billboards. Are bodies are the temple of God and the Holy Spirit dwells in us.

1 Corinthians 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

1 Corinthians 6:20  For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

There is no Glorifying God in your body by marking it up.

1 Corinthians 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

1 Corinthians 3:17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

Ephesians 5:27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemis.

What is the purpose of tattoos? It’s to bring attention to yourselves, which is not what Christians do, but they are representatives of Christ.

Christians bring attention to themselves by setting an example for others to see Jesus.

2 Corinthians 5:20  Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.

Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

1 Timothy 4:12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

Psalms 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

So if you already have a tattoo, you can ask for forgiveness and repent change of mind and heart. Removing it would be your choice!

I really believe that everyone must work out their own salvation by being born again by the word of God.

Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

The rest of that scripture tells you how to work out your salvation which is with fear and trembling.

1 Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

1 Peter 2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby.

Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
