Greece Battles Its Most Widespread Wildfires on Record

Extreme heat has turned much of the country into a tinderbox. More than 350 fires have broken out, the government said. Wildfires ravaged northern Greece for a fifth consecutive day on Wednesday and forced the evacuation of settlements on the outskirts of the capital, Athens.

The authorities said they were battling scores of blazes around the country after weeks of searing heat turned many areas into tinderboxes.

“It is the worst summer for fires since records began,” said the civil protection minister.

Canada is experiencing its most destructive wildfire season on record, as hundreds of blazes burning from coast to coast continue to send tremendous plumes of smoke into the atmosphere and over the U.S.

In Maui, Hawaii the Governor said the fires were the “largest natural disaster in Hawaii state history” and that 80% of the beach-front town had “gone.”

China issued the highest typhoon warning as Typhoon Saola crawled closer to the south-eastern coastline, threatening Hong Kong and other major manufacturing hubs in neighboring Guangdong province.

The strongest typhoon, Hong Kong, ripped through the city and other parts of southern China, knocking down trees and flooding. Hong Kong’s heaviest rain since records began 140 years ago has left two people dead and more than 100 injured, as unusually wet weather caused by typhoons brought more disruption to southern China.

The summer of 2023 was the hottest ever recorded, as the climate crisis pushed up temperatures and drove extreme weather across the world. Heatwaves, fires, and floods have destroyed lives and livelihoods across the globe, from North and South America to Europe, Japan, and China.

These are just a few signs of the awful weather that is happening worldwide. The Democrats in America try to reduce carbon emissions with windmills and electric cars, trying to keep the Paris Agreement international treaty on climate change.

In September 2016, President Barack Obama committed the United States to join more than 190 countries in reducing greenhouse gas emissions in hopes of preventing the global average temperature from increasing by 2 degrees Celsius.

China and India are not part of the Paris accord. This means nothing since India and China omit and produce the most CO₂ emissions.

So, while the Democratic party destroys America with its climate change agenda, the Republican party continues with a denial of global climate change as if they are living on another planet.

Both parties are liars and know there is no way to stop global climate change once the tipping points have started in their domino effect to the end of the world.

The Tipping points have already started their domino effect, and there is no stopping it. Politicians on both sides are not telling the public the truth about global climate change.
