New Year Resolutions for 2024

The start of a new year is a time when people make resolutions to improve themselves and their lives. For Christians, it is important to consider how they can strengthen their relationship with God.

Psalms 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

Studying the Word and applying its principles to your life is a great New Year’s resolution.

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Maybe you wish to shed some pounds or allocate more time to hitting the gym.

1 Timothy 4:8 For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

Simplify your life by working less, finding a new job, or pursuing a hobby.

As a Christian, I believe it’s important to make resolutions to improve our pursuit of God.

One way we can be more like God is by caring for the poor and needy, who he values greatly.

Christians are recognized for their compassion because they believe that God is love.

1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

1 John 4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

There are many ways we can love those in need. Pray for those in bondage. Prayer is one of the most powerful tools God has given us, we can pray on behalf of those who are in need.  There are so many children around the world who need our help.

It’s important to help the elderly by visiting nursing homes and including them in social gatherings. Additionally, offering assistance with physical labor in their homes can also be beneficial.

Investing in people can be a two-way street, with rewards for both giver and receiver.

Encourage imprisoned Christians worldwide by writing letters and letting them know you are praying for them.

Show compassion to the homeless. Keep gift cards for food establishments in your car to give to those in need.

Offer your time to serve at a local homeless shelter. Engage with the homeless and share the love of Christ with them.

Acts 20:35 I have shewed you all things, how that so laboring ye ought to support the weak and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

Proverbs 19:17 He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.

Luke 6:38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye meet withal it shall be measured to you again.

Proverbs 11:24 There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty.

Proverbs 11:25 The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.

Give to those in need without seeking recognition, and you will be rewarded openly by God.

Luke 10:36 Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbor unto him that fell among the thieves?

Luke 10:37 And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.

Every year, more than 9 million people die of starvation, and a significant number of them are children. Additionally, there are over 800 million individuals worldwide who don’t have access to the necessary food to lead an active and healthy life.

Be a true Christian and help your neighbors in need around the world.
