Lebanon On The Brink Of Famine

End time Bible Ezekial 33:6 But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand.

Lebanon’s economic disaster worsens, as its currency lost nearly 95% of its value. Lebanon’s caretaker prime minister appealed on Tuesday to the international community to save his country from “death” and “demise”, warning that the multiple crises it is facing have left it only, days away from social explosion.

Since late 2019, Lebanon’s economic and financial crisis has brought the country of over 6 million, including more than a million Syrian refugees, to the brink of collapse.

The World Bank, calling it one of the worst crises since the 1850s, described Lebanon’s economic contraction as brutal, associated usually with wars and conflicts.

The crisis has seen the local currency lose 95% of its value and left 77% of households without enough food, according to the United Nations.

A foreign currency shortage has crippled the import-dependent country, leaving residents struggling to find fuel, medicines, and basic supplies. Lebanon’s population now spends hours in long lines at gas stations trying to buy fuel, as residents struggle with power outages of up to 22 hours a day and severe medical shortages.

The crisis is because of years of corruption. frustrated by the utter lack of action by the political class, hundreds of thousands of people took to the streets demanding radical political change.

The cabinet resigned, throwing the country into a political crisis. Unsurprisingly, capital inflows came to a sudden halt. Banks, already insolvent, experienced a sharp liquidity crunch, forcing them to declare a “bank holiday” and institute severe restrictions on bank withdrawals.

Then Covid -19 hit the country.

Lebanon’s caretaker prime minister said, “I appeal through you to the kings, princes, presidents, and leaders of brotherly and friendly countries, and I call upon the United Nations and all international bodies, the international community, and the global public opinion to help save the Lebanese from death and prevent the demise of Lebanon,” he said, adding that the repercussions would extend beyond Lebanon’s borders.

Only when a government is formed can the country resume talks with the International Monetary Fund to agree on a recovery plan.

Luke 21:11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and diseases; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.

Luke 21:25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

Luke 21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
