Pneumonia cases in children are reaching “epidemic levels” in Denmark, with chilling similarities to the beginning of Covid-19. “White lung syndrome” pneumonia, nicknamed due to how the lung damage shows up on scans, is caused by mycoplasma pneumonia, a bacterial infection many antibiotics cannot fight.
The Netherlands also reported a worrying increase in children with pneumonia.
Sweden is being affected as well. Normally, mycoplasma pneumonia causes only mild flu-like symptoms, called “walking pneumonia.”

The disease spreads through coughing, sneezing, talking, singing, and breathing through tiny respiratory droplets. The sickness “can’t” always be treated with antibiotics, making it more dangerous for younger children.
Beijing is battling a similar disease, which is causing dangerous inflammation in the lungs of children.
Face masks and social distancing have been recommended across China as the sickness spreads and overwhelms hospitals. Here comes the face mask back.
If you decide to wear a face mask, only wear a K95 mask or a KN95 mask because all other masks are worthless. K95 masks are used in hospitals but are pricey. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has provided alternatives such as KN95 masks when N95 masks are in short supply.
KN95 mask must filter 95% or more of particles to meet the KN95 standard.

Symptoms of pneumonia include:
- a cough – you may cough up yellow or green mucus (phlegm)
- shortness of breath
- a high temperature
- chest pain
- an aching body
- feeling very tired
- loss of appetite
- making wheezing noises when you breathe – babies may also make grunting noises
- feeling confused – this is common in older people
But China’s foreign minister, Wang Yi, said the situation is under control: ‘That is a very common phenomenon in many countries and China that has been put under effective control. China or WHO many people don’t trust after Covid-19.
WHO epidemiologist Dr Maria Van Kerkhove said yesterday: ‘Yes, we are seeing an increase in respiratory infections worldwide. Other experts have suggested that the cases are more prevalent this year due to children having weakened immune systems after lockdowns from Covid-19.
The Cleveland Clinic revealed that cases of walking pneumonia tend to fluctuate, spiking every three to seven years. Since Covid-19, many people have lost their trust in the healthcare system in their countries.
