The Parable of Sowing the Seed into Good Ground

Matthew 13:4 A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it.

Luke 13:11 The seed is the word of God.

The ground is people and their hearts.

Those by the wayside hear the word but don’t understand it.

2 Timothy 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Matthew 13:19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.

Matthew 13:5 Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:

Matthew 13:6 And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.

The ones that the seed falls upon the stony place for a while believe and, in time of temptation, fall away.

Matthew 13:20 But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;

Matthew 13:21 Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.

Matthew 13:7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:

Those among the thorns are those that the cares and riches and pleasures of this world are more important than the word of God.

Matthew 13:22 He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.

Matthew 13:8 But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.

Those of good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, understand it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

Matthew 13:23 But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

All scriptures are God-breathed, and all doctrine should be based on it.

2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is God breathed, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

2 Timothy 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works

We are born again by the word.

1 Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

1 Peter 2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

The Word of God is alive!

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is alive, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

The word directs are steps in life.

Psalms 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
