Submitting to God means submitting to the teaching of the Word of God. The Bible can only benefit you when you acknowledge its authority over you.

Attending church alone won’t grant eternal life. Submission to the word is key. Be a doer, not just a hearer. Follow the teachings to attain eternal life.
James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

The scripture instructs us to both read and study it in order to understand and follow its teachings. Failure to do so results in self-deception.
