Christians Should Watch For The “End Of The World”

Christians should be watchers for the return of Christ.  I have used in most of my articles Ezekial 33 which teaches us to be watchers.

Ezekial 33:6 But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand.

Watchers in the Old Testament times were watchmen that were stationed on a wall or in a tower in order to look out for and warn of dangers approaching from afar. They were employed to protect cities as well as vineyards, fields, or pastures.

Isaiah 62:6 I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night.

Today all Christians are supposed to be watchers. Not just watching for evil and warning others but watching for the return of Christ and warn others.

Revelations 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

There have been many false claims about the return of Jesus made by false prophecy teachers in books and movies which have caused many behind pulpits in churches to teach  false doctrine that will cause many people who believe these lies to be left behind.

One false teachings is the world will never end.

2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

Christians will go to a new earth to live.

Revelations 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

Another false teachings is Jesus will come as a thief in the night. It’s true he will return as a thief in the night, but a “thief unto who” is where the “lie” is?

The “false teachers” teach he will return as a thief in the night to “everyone”. The Bible differs from these prophecies teachers on this subject and many other false teachings they teach.

In Thessalonians 5 the Bible teaches Jesus will “ONLY” return as a thief in the night unto “those who are in darkness and asleep”.

The “true Christians will be awake and watching” for the “signs” and “know by the signs” when

Jesus will return.

The ones in darkness will be asleep and “not watching” for the “signs” of Christ’s return.

So Jesus will “return as a thief in the night” unto those that are “not watching” that are in “darkness and asleep”.

1 Thessalonians 5 says that the watchers, Christians are “NOT” in darkness that day should overtake them as a thief.

1 Thessalonians 5:4  But ye, brethren, are “NOT” in darkness, that “THAT DAY SHOULD OVERTAKE YOU AS A THIEF”.

1 Thessalonians 5:5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

1 Thessalonians 5:6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but “LET US WATCH” and be sober.

1 Thessalonians 5:7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.

1 Thessalonians 5:8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

I believe I will go by what the Bible teaches and watch for the signs instead of someone who get his doctrine from a book written about the Bible.

There are so many signs going on in the past few years of Christ’s return you would have to be asleep or a Bible illiterate.

Everyone who calls themselves Christian should study the Bible and put away books about the Bible. We should get our doctrine from the Bible as well.

2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is God-breathed and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is alive, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

2 Timothy 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

1 Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.
1 Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

1 Peter 2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

1 Thessalonians 4:13  But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

1 Thessalonians 4:14  For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

1 Thessalonians 4:15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

1 Thessalonians 4:16  For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

1 Thessalonians 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
1 Thessalonians 4:18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
