Changing your Life, old things are passed away; behold, all things become new

If you want to change your life, you need to change your thinking. To become a Christian, you must also change your thinking.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

The Bible teaches that aligning your thoughts with its teachings can lead to a transformative life.

Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

A Christian’s reasonable service is to live a life that is a continual sacrifice, which is holy and acceptable to God.

Romans 12:2 And be not “conformed” to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

The Greek word “conformed” means to conform to, so the scripture is teaching us not to conform to the ways of this world.

We are transformed by studying the Word of God. The Greek word for “transformed” is “metamorphoo”, which means “metamorphosis,” like a caterpillar turning into a butterfly.

Studying the Word transforms us into the image of Jesus, freeing us from sin.

Another way the scriptures teach this is:

Ephesians 4:22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

Ephesians 4:23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind.

Ephesians 4:24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Renewing our minds involves replacing old thoughts with new, righteous ones by studying the Bible.

Another way the Bible teaches it is:

1 Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever.

1 Peter 2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

You must be born again by studying the words of God and allowing the ways of the Bible to become your own.

The Bible says it this way as well:

2 Corinthians 2:14 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.

It is necessary to transform oneself by aligning one’s thoughts with the teachings of the Bible.

Colossians 3:9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;

Colossians 3:10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him.
