Millions of Haitians Face Starvation as Gangs Trying to Takeover, Free 5,000 Prisoners

Armed gangs have launched large-scale coordinated assaults against multiple government buildings and the presidential palace after attacking prisons last week and freeing close to 5,000 inmates.

Caribbean leaders have called for an emergency meeting with the United States, Canada, and France to address the issue and find ways to end this unrest. Let’s hope that they can come up with effective solutions that will bring peace and stability to the people of Haiti.

Street battles between gangs and police have devastated Haiti’s economy. Half of the population of over 11 million people suffer from food insecurity, and 1.5 million are starving, according to United Nations officials.

Haiti’s most notorious gang leader, a former police officer, says the first step is to overthrow Prime Minister Henri and then what he calls “the corrupt oligarchs and politicians.

The violence in Haiti has led to thousands of people seeking refuge in the Dominican Republic, potentially increasing migration towards the US border.

So give to your neighbors in poor countries that are starving and do it in secret so God will reward you openly.

Luke 10:33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,

Luke 10:34 And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.

Luke 10:35 And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.

Luke 10:36 Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbor unto him that fell among the thieves?

Luke 10:37 And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.

GO AND DO LIKEWISE!
