Israel was accused of executing a covert drone strike against a munitions factory in Iran. The strike occurred in Isfahan, targeting an advanced weapons systems factory and damaging the facility.
The operation comes as the United States and Israel attempt to contain Iran’s ballistic-missile program.
The strike occurred just days after U.S. Central Intelligence Agency Director William Burns made an unannounced trip to Israel to discuss issues involving Iran and the region.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken will arrive in Israel on Monday, 1/30/2023, for additional U.S.-Israel talks.
Israel’s operation comes as Iran has been providing Russia with hundreds of drones used in the war in Ukraine.
