Mass Extinction has Begun according to Scientists

January 14, 2022, a major study was released by the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s Red List of Threatened Species, and BirdLife International found that the earth may be on the brink of a mass extinction event.

Mass extinctions have been happening at an alarming rate with human involvement and climate change blamed for creating habitats unsuitable for many species of wildlife.

Worldwide it is thought that more than 500 species of land animals are close to extinction.

Data collected as part of the IUCN’s report shows that 77 of the species that are most in danger have lost 94% of their populations in the last century.

More than 400 species of vertebrates became extinct in the last 100 years.

This all points to a series of extinctions in the near future, which could have a catastrophic resultant effect on the natural ecosystem.

The IUCN’s analysis shows that 388 species of land vertebrates had populations of less than 5,000 and that 84% are primarily found in regions where other species have a population of less than 1,000.

Favorite foods could disappear forever because of different factors in nature.

The foods are almonds, because of billions of bees that are dying off, who are sent to pollinate California’s many almond trees.

It is not just almonds because three-quarters of the world’s food crops depend on pollinators including butterflies, beetles, birds, and bees, which are declining at an alarming rate.

Many of these species could face global extinction. This would be devastating in its own right, and it would also lead to the loss of fruits, including blueberries, which are insect-pollinated, mostly by honeybees.

Broccoli is another staple veggie that relies on pollination from honeybees. Honey that relies on bees.

Coffee, wine, avocados, chickpeas, maple syrup,  peaches, vanilla, oranges, pasta, tabasco sauce, tofu, rice, chocolate, peanut butter, bananas because of the weather.

Bluefin tuna and Atlantic cod because of overfishing.  Salmon because of the PH level of seawater decreases, causing them to become more acidic. Mussels could be severely impacted by rising ocean temperatures.

2 Chronicles 7:13 If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people;
2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Luke 21:11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and diseases; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.
Luke 21:25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
Luke 21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
