Germany, Hungary, and Italy “would not” enact SWIFT one of the Harshest Sanctions on Russia.
SWIFT is the international money and security transfer to transfer money or receive money from around the world.
To stop Russia from using SWIFT would impact the Russian economy, particularly in the short term, and would be devastating. Russia is heavily reliant on SWIFT due to its multibillion exports of hydrocarbons denominated in U.S. dollars.
The cutoff would terminate all international transactions, trigger currency volatility, and cause massive capital outflows. Excluding Russia from the SWIFT banking system is what the G7 should have done.
To do this all G7 countries have to agree on sanctions unanimously for this to happen. Germany, Hungary, and Italy said no with the lame excuse that they wish to hold some sanctions in reserve.
Donald Tusk former EU chief tweeted that Hungary, Italy, and Germany had “disgraced themselves” over their wish to hold some sanctions in reserve. He said those countries were dealing in “pretended” sanctions. “In this war everything is real: Putin’s madness and cruelty, Ukrainian victims, bombs falling on Kyiv.
I believe we could include America’s lack of leadership too. America’s government has become a follower, not a leader, and can only mimic others’ decisions.
America too would not make the decision to exclude Russia from the system, suggesting his sanctions are tougher anyway. America’s sanctions were feeble and will have no effect on Putin.
Those countries in Europe who said no to stopping Russia from using SWIFT must forget the history of how they waited too long to stop Hitler and later fell to his dictatorship. Germany should know best how an evil dictator can destroy a country.
Putin’s attack on Ukraine that has been free and has the right to choose its own destiny is a travesty and a threat to world peace.
Putin is a modern-day Hitler along with Xi Jinping the leader of China. China and Russia, which have fortified political and economic ties in recent years.
Ahead of the opening ceremony at the recent Winter Olympics in Beijing, Xi and Putin produced a joint statement suggesting their relations had become warm and their interests aligned. Putin labeled the current depth of Russia and China ties “unprecedented.” But that was a lie which both leaders are known for.
History tells us the alliance of Hitler of Germany and Mussolini of Italy and Emperor Hirohito’s of Japan was “unprecedented.”

Putin and Xi mindset is world domination as Hitler once believed. If Hitler would have had the atomic bomb he would have gladly used it against the world to achieve his world order.
Today it’s not a country trying to obtain an atomic bomb but two nuclear- countries working cooperatively with the same mindset as Hitler. Would they use a nuclear bomb to achieve their dominance?
Putin has already threatened the world in a speech that if any country dares to use military means to try to stop Russia’s takeover of Ukraine he would use nuclear weapons against them.
The weak leadership in America said nothing and from NATO only France reminded Putin that NATO too has nuclear weapons.
If Russia goes against a NATO country Article 5 is a agreement that NATO including America has to defend them and that could be the birth of World War III.
World war II had an estimated total of 70 to 85 million people that died. Deaths directly caused by the war including military and civilian fatalities are estimated at 50 to 56 million, with an additional estimated 19 to 28 million deaths from war-related disease and famine.
Instead of the disgusting protest of the BLM that took place on America streets, protest of a worthy cause was in Washington, protesters wrote “murder” in red paint on the driveway outside the Russian Embassy.
In Berlin, thousands gathered at the Brandenburg Gate, which marked the division between East and West Berlin during the Cold War, chanting: “Stop Putin, stop war.”
In London, demonstrators gathered outside Downing Street to call on the British government to do more to stop Russian aggression.
Many were Ukrainians living in London who said they were “heartbroken” and “terrified” at the unfolding news. Some held signs showing an image of Putin with blood on his hands.
More than 1,700 people have already been arrested in 51 cities in Russia at anti-war protests after Putin invasion of Ukraine.
Christians from around the world should be praying for this evil to be stopped.
